At today's prices, petrol in Delhi costs Rs 86.65 per liter and diesel Rs 76.83 per liter. The price of petrol-diesel has reached record levels due to continuous price hikes. Inflation has also risen due to the rise in petrol-diesel prices. Which has a direct impact on the pockets of the general public.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram presented the general budget for the year 2021-22 on February 1. It announced a cess of Rs 2.5 per liter on petrol and diesel and Rs 4 per liter on diesel. However, the government says it will not affect the general public.
