H-1B visa capacity completed for 2021, lottery results to be announced on March 31

U.S. officials say applications for 2021 will be closed once the H-1B visa expires. Lottery results will be announced by March 31. The United States accepts a maximum of 5,000 applications for H-1B visas, and 20,000 applications under the Masters Cap are accepted separately.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said in a statement that it had stopped accepting applications for the year 2021 as it had received the required 5,000 applications for the H-1B visa category. The United States announces its name through a lottery system, receiving 3,000 applications from around the world each year. The results of the lottery will be announced by March 31.
The new US president, Joe Biden, announced the re-issuance of H-1B visas under the lottery system. Earlier, Trump offered a visa based on merit rather than a lottery system.
Meanwhile the Citizens Act Bill was introduced in the American Congress. Senator Bob Menendez introduced the bill before the Senate. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez introduced the bill in the lower house. The bill, which seeks to remove the green card-wise country-by-country provision, will be under special scrutiny around the world. If the bill is passed, it will benefit many Indian IT experts who have been waiting for 10 years to get a US green card.
A country cap system is currently in place to issue green cards. Accordingly, green cards are issued on a limited basis depending on the country. If the new bill is approved, many people who have been waiting for a green card for decades will hope to get one soon.
