Former Union Minister MJ Akbar tweaked, Delhi court gives clean chit to Priya Ramani in defamation case

A Delhi court has given a clean chit to journalist Priya Ramani in a defamation suit filed by former Union Minister MJ Akbar. The court delivered its verdict on February 1 after hearing the arguments of both the parties in full. Journalist Priya Ramani had accused MJ Akbar of sexual harassment.

It may be mentioned that in the year 2018, under the Meetu campaign, Ramani had accused Akbar of sexual harassment. Akbar had lodged a complaint against Ramani on October 15, 2018 for allegedly defaming him. Meanwhile, Akbar resigned from the post of Union Minister on October 17, 2018.

In a 2017 article, Ramani mentioned sexual harassment by a former boss during a job interview. A year later he revealed that the person in the article was MJ Akbar.
