Dialogue between India-Pakistan DGMO, Strong agreement to maintain peace on the border


- The agreements reached between the two countries will be re-implemented from time to time

After a long hiatus, an initiative has been taken to improve relations between India and Pakistan once again. A meeting was held on Wednesday between the two countries' director generals of military operations. It has been decided to re-implement the agreements reached between the two countries from today, i.e. from the night of February 24-25.

Indian Army Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh and his Pakistani counterpart discussed issues including ceasefire violation, ceasefire, Kashmir issue in a hotline conversation. The two countries also reviewed the situation along the Line of Control. A joint statement was then issued by the two countries.

In a joint statement, India and Pakistan said that the two countries were ready to adhere to the terms of the internal agreements, agreements and ceasefire. It will also be observed in all areas of the LoC from midnight on February 24 and 25. The two countries reviewed the situation in an independent, clear and amicable atmosphere in the LoC and all other areas.

The two DGMOs have agreed to address each other's key issues and concerns in order to maintain lasting peace on the border. Both countries agreed on the current mechanism of hotline communication. Also agreed to use flag seats to address any unforeseen circumstances or doubts. Apart from that there was also talk of resolving all disputes through dialogue.

These issues will be emphasized

- A hotline system will be set up to facilitate communication between the two countries from time to time

- Other issues including ceasefire violation, firing, infiltration will be resolved through dialogue.

- Regular flag meeting will be resumed. It will remove the misconceptions that exist between the two countries.
