The controversy over the renaming of the world's largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad as Narendra Modi Sports Stadium has started. President Ramnath Kovinde inaugurated the stadium on Wednesday. Most notably, the name change was kept a secret until the opening ceremony. Arguments have been made in his favor and against him since the matter came to light.

Congress leader Hardik Patel called it an insult to Sardar Patel. So there are many others who are protesting against this. So there are people who are endorsing this. It is important to note that this is not the first time that a stadium has been named after a politician. Especially in our country, this history is years old.
