Budget 2021: Modi govt presents gifts to West Bengal, Kerala and Assam before elections, announces multi-crore package

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram presented the budget for 2020-21 in Parliament. Introducing the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram said the self-reliant India package from the Modi government had brought some schemes before the country in the Corona era. In order to speed up the economy, the budget has also given gifts to the election states towards the government.

In his budget speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram announced a multi-billion rupee package for West Bengal, Kerala and Assam this year.

The finance minister said 3500 km of new national highways would be constructed this year. The finance minister also announced a budget to build highways in Assam, Kerala and West Bengal.

The finance minister said Rs 25,000 crore would be spent on highways in West Bengal. At the same time 1100 km of highways are being constructed in Kerala.
