New Delhi Dated 21st January 2021 Thursday

In the second phase of Corona vaccination, it was formally announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state chief ministers would also be vaccinated.

In the first phase of vaccination, a vaccination program was conducted for health workers, frontline personnel and soldiers on duty at the Ladakh border. In the second phase, other Indian Army personnel, paramilitary personnel and civilians above 50 years of age will be vaccinated against corona.

However, it is not yet clear when the second phase will start. But the guideline for the second phase had not been decided. In this phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of states, governors and other VIPs will be vaccinated, especially those above 50 years of age.

The central government said the state governments would decide in which session to vaccinate whom. So far, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are the states where speedy work was underway to achieve the target. There are some states, including Delhi and Punjab, where health workers were still refraining from getting vaccinated. Such health workers will now be told through counseling that they need to be vaccinated. The side effects of the corona vaccine are not so serious.

The country currently has two legally approved vaccines - covacin and covicheld. In addition, four other vaccine trials were underway. A trial of a nasal vaccine was also approved. Meanwhile, Corona's daily cases and death toll are down now compared to the past.
