The government will say the same vaccine will be given, the option can not be chosen, the health secretary indicated.

In the midst of the nationwide vaccination of corona starting January 16, the government has indicated that whatever the government decides will have to be vaccinated. No alternative will be given.

While the government has approved Serum Institute's AstraGenica and Bharat Biotech co-vaccines in India, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said more than one vaccine is being used in a number of countries but people are not given the right to choose an alternative.

The health secretary has indicated that a similar policy could be adopted by the government in India. He further said that the second dose would be given after the first dose of the vaccine was given within a period of 28 days.

Dozens of doses of the vaccine are currently being distributed in various cities of the country. The government has procured crores of doses of the vaccine from Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech. In the first phase, the government is to provide free vaccines to health workers and other Corona Warriors.
