The first batch of corona vaccine has reached Delhi from Pune today, four days before the corona vaccination drive starts on Saturday.
The first batch of vaccines from the Serum Institute in Pune was dispatched to the airport.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said four airlines would operate special flights from Pune to deliver 5.6 million doses of the vaccine to 13 cities across the country.
As part of which, one plane was sent from Pune to Delhi and the other to Chennai. Five trucks were used to deliver the vaccine to the airport. The first batch was also worshiped at the Serum Institute before being dispatched.
The central government has ordered 6 crore doses for the first phase of vaccination, which will cost a total of Rs 1300 crore.
