- Swami's allegation of being in a bat project in Wuhan, China

New delhi date. Saturday 2 January 2021

The appointment of Dr Vijay Raghavan as Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister's Office was challenged by BJP MP Dr Subramaniam Swamy.

Swamy alleged that the same doctor Vijay Raghavan was also one of the bats project in China's Wuhan province that spread the corona virus worldwide. Raghavan is a molecular biologist.

Swamy said how can a person who is in a bat project in Wuhan province and from where the corona virus has spread all over the world be taken as the chief scientific adviser in the Prime Minister's Office.

Swamy further alleged that Raghav had asked Chinese scientists to experiment on bats by digging up cobras without the permission of the Indian government. This is not the first time Raghavan has come to the center of controversy. This scientist has been at the center of controversy before. Dr. Raghavan also dominated the Indian Council of Medical Research. Although he was not a virologist, he was a member of the IMCR.

Raghav was given leave by a team of 20 specialists from Israel to take saliva samples from Corona patients. Swamy alleged that he did not get the necessary government permission for that too.

Raghavan is counted among the top biologists in the country and in fact in March 2020 he was made the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister. Raghavan had also been the secretary of the Department of Biology.

In 2017, at the Gujarat Global Summit, he selected 9 Nobel laureate scientists. It can be said that the Prime Minister was influenced by Raghavan from that time. This doctor advocated Raghav to use HCQ drug in the treatment of corona.

Despite being a BJP MP, Swami Modi has been critical of many aspects of the government. Sometimes it seems that Swami has a constant desire to be at the center of the media.
