Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Madhav Singh Solanki has died. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat four times.

Solanki, 94, breathed his last on Saturday morning. Born on July 30, 1927, Madhav Singh was born to a Kshatriya family in Borsad near Anand. He was a lawyer by profession. In 1977, he became the first Chief Minister of Gujarat for a short time. Madhav Singh, considered the father of Kham Theory in Gujarat, first introduced Kham Theory in 1980. Due to this, castes like Patel Brahmin and Vaniya became his opponents. In 1981, he introduced reservations for the socially and economically weaker. This led to violent protests and violent riots. He resigned as chief minister in 1985 after a makeover movement in which some young people were killed, but was re-elected with a larger majority, according to Kham Theory.

When PV Narasimha Rao's government was at the Center, Madhav Singh sent a letter to Sweden at Narasimha Rao's suggestion in the Bofors scandal. The letter proved to be a turning point in his political career. Solanki was then left alone and his political career came to an end. Madhav Singh was considered a well-read reader. He had a deep study of world literature and had a good rapport with writers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Madhav Singh Solanki and said that Solanki had made a very important contribution in Gujarat politics. His departure created a kind of vacuum. The Prime Minister reassured Bharat by talking to Solanki's son Bharat Solanki on the phone. Bharat Solanki is also active in politics.
