Schools, parks and markets closed in Bangkok after transition cases escalated

The rapid rise in cases of the corona virus in the Thai capital, Bangkok, has led to the closure of several places, including the city's schools and parks, with 279 new cases of the infection reported in the country on Friday and two deaths.

Seven provinces, including Bangkok, have been declared red zones, where boxing venues, entertainment venues, gyms and local markets have been ordered closed, allowing food to be packed from restaurants, and the ban will remain in effect until mid-January.

New cases of the transition have been found from the country's largest seafood wholesale market in Sumt Sakhon, south of here, and from a casino in Rayong, where 180 new cases of the transition have been reported in the last 24 hours, said Dr. Tavisilp said the health ministry had approached Oxford-AstraZeneca for a new consignment of 26 million corona doses to prevent infection.
