Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of IIM Sambalpur, addressed by video conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of IIM in Sambalpur, Orissa this morning through video conference. Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also present on the occasion.

Apart from Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers like Ramesh Pokhriyal, Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Chandra Sarangi were also present.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that this IIM would strengthen the potential of the youth of Orissa. This Sheila and the permanent campus established here will give a new identity to Orissa in the managed world besides exposing the great culture and resources of Orissa to the world.

Construction of the campus is planned to be completed by 2022. The building will have all the latest technological facilities. The Prime Minister called on the youth and anyone interested in start-ups to join the program. This IIM will be the first IIM to launch a flipped classroom.

The Prime Minister lauded all the IIMs who have made sincere contributions to the development work of the country. He said that hundreds of our youth abroad are ready for such IIMs and are working in responsible positions. IIM also made a significant contribution to national development. We are proud of such IIM organizations.

He said today's start-up is tomorrow's successful businessman. We want to increase their enthusiasm. Sambalpur was becoming a major education hub. The scope of start-ups, from farming to the space sector, was growing.

The Prime Minister said that IIM students have to find new and innovative tools to make the local global. He opined that IIM could be a link between local producers and global producers. He also expressed the view that these decades are excellent for the progress of the country.
