Lalu Yadav's health deteriorates: He will be shifted to AIIMS, medical report of water filling in lungs

- Swelling on the face, Tejaswi Yadav informed

Patna / New Delhi 23rd January 2021 Saturday

Lalu Yadav, a former Bihar chief minister and accused in several other scams, including the fodder scam, was reportedly in critical condition and was being shifted to AIIMS.

Lalu Yadav is currently in jail on more than one charge. His son Tejaswi Yadav said that my father's lungs were filled with water and he was suffering from pneumonia. This caused swelling on his face. Lalu's family was with him till late Friday night. The family members present included Lalu's wife Rabdi Devi, son Tejaswi Yadav, daughter Dr Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap Yadav and others.

According to a report, Lalu's health was deteriorating day by day. With that in mind, there was talk of shifting Lalu to AIIMS as per the doctors' advice. After the doctors give the final report, the jail authorities will apply to the lower court for permission to move Lalu. Lalu Yadav can be shifted to AIIMS in Delhi only if the court allows him to move out of Patna.

Lalu has been lodged in Ranchi jail since he was convicted in the fodder scam. He was undergoing medical treatment at Rims in Ranchi. He had applied for bail four times earlier. Three of the four applications were approved. The verdict of the fourth petition was pending. Dozens of police constables involved in Lalu Yadav's security were evacuated after reports of Korona's death.

Tejaswi Yadav claimed that my father's health was deteriorating. We are waiting for the report of the senior doctors. Tejaswi also claimed that only 25 per cent of my father’s kidneys were working. There was also a good increase in their creatine level. His face was swollen with water in his lungs.

However, Lalu's critics believe that it was all Lalu's fault for getting bail. If the rest of Lalu was not in good health, how could the court fill the jail every day.
