India make history in Brisbane: Australia 'clean bold'

Player of the Match Pant's offensive 89 *, Gill's 91 and Pujara's 56

Brisbane, Ta. Tuesday, January 19, 2021

January 19, 2021 is a golden day in the history of Indian cricket. India chased down a target of 328 with three overs to spare to beat Australia by three wickets to win the series 2-1.

With this, India has won the second series back-to-back for the first time after the 2018-2019 Test series in Australia but has become the team to beat Australia after 32 years at the Brisbane ground. Player of the Match Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 89 off 138 balls with nine fours and a six gave Australia a shock defeat.

The significance of Pant's innings can be seen in the fact that at the time of Tina, India's store was 183 for 3, with 37 overs remaining in the final session and 145 for victory. Which was about 3.91 runs per over. TA Pujara was 43 and Pant was 10 in the game. India achieved the target of 328 with three overs to spare.

After T, India scored 145 runs in 34 overs. Pant alone added 79 runs. In the meantime, Pujara was dismissed for 56, Agarwal for 9, Sundar for 22 and Thakur for 2, but India managed to win with an aggressive approach amid extreme tensions.

India took a four-run lead without a wicket this morning, adding 324 runs. Apart from Pant, opener Gill's 91 off 146 balls with eight fours and two sixes and Pujara's 56 off 211 balls with 314 minutes at the crease also contributed to India's victory.

India adopted a tactic of attacking in the final session, saving wickets by adopting the first tactic of not being defeated and even pulling in the machadro. For which Pujara saved one end and Gill kept the run rate alive. Gill and Rahane (24) were out but Pujara was not distracted.

Pujara and Pant added 61 runs for the fourth wicket in 23.3 overs. Pante was determined to attack in the last 20 overs. India were aiming for a draw and then headed for victory.

However, Washington also had to applaud Sundar (29 off 22 balls) as Pujara and Agarwal (9 off 15 balls) were out and India would have lost if they had taken cheap wickets. Even if Pat-Sundar had slowed down, even in the draw, Pant-Sundar had a 53-run partnership for the sixth wicket in 9.1 overs.

Pat Cummins from Australia was named Player of the Series for taking 23 wickets in the series. He was 4 for 55 in the second innings.

Indian Cricket Board President Sourav Ganguly thanked the Indian team for this historic achievement. Has announced a prize of Rs five crore. Former cricketers and fans from the Prime Minister of India Modi onwards showered congratulations on social media.

The last time Australia lost in Brisbane was to the West Indies in 1988 under the captaincy of Vivian Richards. Australia have lost a Test in Brisbane after 32 years.

Similarly, this is India's biggest run chase victory in the history of Brisbane. The previous record was held by Australia against the West Indies in 1951. Australia lost 7 wickets for 236 runs in that match in Brisbane. No team has succeeded in chasing more than 236.

India's leading players were ruled out due to injuries as the series progressed. This was a series in which each Test had a different XI. The seniors were ruled out with injuries

Players like the youth and the India 'A' team cut Australia's nose

Without Virat Kohli, India won two of the three Tests

Brisbane, Ta. Tuesday, January 19, 2021

India beat Australia 2-1 in the Test series. Although it was another Test series defeat for Australia after 2018-2019, it can be said that India cut off Australia's nose in the series which ended today. Seeing young Indian inexperienced players licking the dust off Australia's soil reminded me of 'Kabe Arjun Luntyo Wo Hi Dhanush Wo Hi Baan'.

Even before the Test series, leading cricket critics like former cricketers like Michael Vaughan, Mark Waugh, Michael Clarke and Ponting had predicted that Kohli would return to India after playing the first Test and that Rohit Sharma would not be able to play in the first two Tests. Hoi India will be whitewashed 4-0.

After India lost the first Test in Adelaide by just 36 runs, the critics joined the fray and jumped like frogs. They were predicting such a thing only on the basis of Kohli's absence. But when India lost the first Test under Kohli's captaincy, they started saying how much more a team without Kohli would be beaten.

Shami, Umesh Yadav got injured after the first Test in Adhura. K.L. Rahul was ruled out of the series due to an injury sustained during practice in Australia before he was named in the squad.

Jadeja could not play the first Test. He made a winning contribution in the second Test in Melbourne but became unfit for the third and fourth Tests. If Hanuma Vihari and Ashwin were not available for the fourth Test due to injuries sustained during the combative draw innings of the third Test, Bumrah became unfit in the final Test.

In such circumstances the young warm blood got a chance. India relied on a bowling line-up like Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar (semi-all-rounder) Siraj, Saini. In terms of Indian team experience, India looked like a team. Gill was also making his first trip. Pant is also said to be young. He lost Kohli in three Tests as a captain and as a batsman.

In the last two Tests, only Rohit Sharma, Pujara and Rahane experienced. In such circumstances, the performance of Gill, Pant, Siraj, Sundar, Thakur, Saini, Agarwal will be remembered forever. In India's series win of 2018-19, OC. Smith, Warner were not on the team. In this series they were defeated though.
