Former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi was given Z-plus category protection

The Center has decided to provide Z-plus category protection to former Chief Justice and now Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi. This category of security will be provided to them wherever they go in India. The Home Ministry has directed the Central Reserve Police Force to do so.

While Ranjan Gogoi was the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court delivered the historic judgment on the Ram temple. Ranjan Gogoi then retired and is currently a Rajya Sabha MP.

His bench also ruled in favor of the Sabarimala temple. Ranjan Gogoi in a judgment also banned the display of pictures of leaders in government advertisements. His bench also directed the Supreme Court to publish the judgment in seven languages, including English and Hindi.
