Fifteen hours of talks with China are underway, with efforts underway to reduce tensions in Ladakh

- There have been eight rounds of negotiations so far

New Delhi, Monday, January 25, 2021

The two sides held one more round of talks to reduce tensions with China at Ladakh in India's border areas. It was learned that the talks lasted for fifteen hours.

The ninth round of negotiations took place on No Man's Land. There had been eight rounds before but no constructive result. Now the ninth round of negotiations had taken place.

Since April last year, China has been deploying its troops on the Ladakh border without any prior provocation. The troopers attempted to infiltrate the Indian border but were thwarted by the Indian Army. Then, on the one hand, China was negotiating and on the other hand, it was constantly increasing its military presence. The Chinese army deployed around the LAC. Earlier, it was agreed that no country would deploy troops on the border. But China was constantly manipulating.

China was further incensed when the Indian army chased away Chinese troops. China's official mouthpiece, the Global Times, threatened that India would have to endure better food this time than the 1965 Indo-China war. However, in the wake of China's transmission of the corona virus, countries such as the US, Australia and Britain have expressed support for India in its conflict with China and have offered to help India if needed. The temperature in the ravines of Ladakh had dropped to minus 30 degrees. The Chinese soldiers could not bear such cold weather so the Chinese soldiers retreated indiscriminately while the Indian soldiers were standing firm on their duty. India had also deployed its troops due to the presence of Chinese troops in some areas.

Meanwhile, the ninth round of talks on No Man's Land was reported to have lasted fifteen hours.
