Farmers are illiterate, they don't even know the way to Delhi: farmer leader Rakesh Tikait

- We asked them to bring sticks to fly the flag

New Delhi 27th January 2021 Wednesday

Yes, it is true that we asked them to bring sticks. But that is because the flags can be flown. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait asked how flags could be flown without sticks.

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who went missing during the horrific violence and vandalism on the pretext of a tractor rally in the national capital New Delhi on Tuesday, January 26, lashed out at the media late on Tuesday, claiming that farmers were poor and illiterate. He has no road information to come to Delhi.

In a video circulating on social media, in response to a media query about Rakesh Tikait urging his supporters to come armed on Republic Day, Tikait claimed that he meant sticks as a weapon. How can any flag fly without a saddle. So I suggested bringing sticks.

Tikait claimed that the tractors were being driven by uneducated farmers. He did not even know the way to Delhi. The administrators showed them the way to Delhi. Some of them mistakenly walked towards the Red Fort. He was taken back by the police.

Meanwhile, police closed all roads leading to the VIP zone on Wednesday morning. All roads leading to India Gate, Pragati Maidan, Mandi House, ITO and Connaught Place were closed. National Highway No. 9 and National Highway 24 were also closed. Delhi Police shared the information on Twitter. The Red Fort metro station was also closed recently. A number of tractors could be seen parked on the border of Delhi this morning.
