Mumbai, Ta. Monday, January 25, 2021

Farmers on the Delhi border have been protesting for two months against three agricultural laws imposed by the central government. Farmers are to hold a tractor parade in the capital tomorrow, the Republic Day, with a demand to repeal the Agriculture Act. Then in support of the farmers who are protesting in Delhi, farmers from Maharashtra will protest today. The rally has been organized by Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha.

It is claimed that about 50,000 farmers from different parts of Maharashtra have reached out to join the exhibition. What is special about this rally is that NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, Pradesh Congress president Balasaheb Thorat as well as Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray will also take part in the farmers' demonstration and address them.

After addressing the farmers' rally, a delegation will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari and hand over the application to him. It is being said that the farmers' rally will be held till Raj Bhavan.

In the midst of all this, NCP president Sharad Pawar is being targeted by the BJP. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said that Sharad Pawar was going to give a speech against contract farming, but a big announcement was made in Baramati that 'Baramati Agro Contract Farming by Rohit Pawar'
