33,000 tonnes of biomedical waste emitted in last seven months

The corona posed a new threat to the country. In the last seven months, 33,000 tons of biomedical waste was generated.

The highest waste was generated in October 2020 at more than 55,000 tons. Where does this waste go. How to dispose of it. It is difficult to answer the question of whether it spreads any kind of infection.

The biomedical waste used by health workers during corona treatment is called PPE kit, masks, shovels, gloves, blood of infected people, plaster casting, adhesive tapes, Rs. It cannot be left open.

According to a report by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India alone has generated 33,000 tonnes of biomedical waste in the last seven months. More than 55,000 tons of waste generated in October separated. The highest biomedical waste was in the state of Maharashtra. Maharashtra generated 3,587 tonnes of biomedical waste.

There is a big risk of dumping such waste anywhere. This waste can pose a fatal risk to garbage cleaners. Such waste has to be decontaminated by special chemicals or incinerated in a secluded place. No details are yet available on how or where this biomedical waste has been disposed of.

In addition to this waste, thousands of tons of biomedical waste is generated daily from various hospitals in the country. It also has to be disposed of in a special way. Such waste is generated during the treatment of various human diseases. It can also be dangerous for society.
