10 killed in Madhya Pradesh after drinking poisonous liquor, wailing on the eve of Makar Sankranti in Morena

- Another fifty-six people are tossed between life and death

Morena (Madhya Pradesh) dated 12 January 2021 Tuesday

At least ten people have died from alcohol poisoning in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district and another fifty-six people are languishing in a hospital.

Naturally, the incident caused an uproar in the entire Morena district. Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported. The bodies of the deceased were rushed by the police for postmortem and the rest were shifted to the hospital.

According to police, three people from Pahwali village within the limits of Sumavali police station in Morena district and ten from Manpur village in Bagchi area were killed. Another two dozen people were fighting for their lives in the hospital.

According to the details of the incident, a man fell ill after consuming poisonous liquor in Mangaon area on Monday morning. He died on the way to Gwalior when his family was on their way to Gwalior for treatment. When the family returned to the village with his body, they learned that a few others had died or were in critical condition. A short time later, another six or seven died.

Meanwhile, the police rushed to the spot and rushed the injured to Morena District Hospital for treatment. Dr Raghavendra Singh, a senior doctor at the district hospital, said most of the deaths were due to poisoning.

However this is not the first time this has happened. Eight people died after some people drank such illegal liquor during a lockdown last year. Interestingly, news of the arrest of Kalal, the maker of the liquor, has not yet been received. The police were silent about it. It may be recalled here that the BJP has a Shivraj Singh Chauhan government in Madhya Pradesh.
