PM Modi gives green signal to 100th Kisan Rail, says millions of farmers in West Bengal will benefit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday flagged off the country's 100th Kisan Rail. The farmer train will run from Sangola in Maharashtra to Shalimar in West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the train through video conferencing. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal were also present on the occasion. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that this work shows our commitment to the farmers.

He further said that Kisan Rail Service is also an important step towards increasing the income of farmers in the country. Which will lead to a big change in the economy connected with agriculture. This rail service will also strengthen the country's cold supply chain. I greet millions of farmers in the country. Despite the Corona challenge, the Kisan rail network has expanded within the last four months and now the country has got 100th farmer train.

The Prime Minister further said that through this network, farmers will be able to sell their produce in other states. It is also a testament to how quickly our farmers are ready for new possibilities. Kisan Rail also has rotating cold storage. Fruits, vegetables, milk, fish, etc., which are perishable, are being transported from one place to another with complete security. Facilities like Kisan Rail are beneficial to millions of small farmers in West Bengal. At the same time, small traders will also benefit from it.
