People angry over Pak ambassador's tweet calling Takshashila part of ancient Pakistan

Islamabad, Ta. 14 December 2020, Monday

Every day Pakistan finds some reason to annoy India and gets itself trapped. In the same way the historical Takshashila University of India has come up against the phenomenon.

Pakistan's ambassador to Vietnam, Qamar Abbas Khokar, has sparked controversy by calling the Takshashila University, considered the pride of ancient India, part of ancient Pakistan. Such a controversial tweet from Pakistan's ambassador has been condemned by all. However, the one who tweeted from the account is not verified but this tweet is rapidly going viral on social media.

He tweeted that this image of Takshashila University has been recreated, the university was present in ancient Pakistan near Islamabad 2700 years ago today. At this university, students from 16 countries of the world were receiving higher education in different subjects and were being taught by scholars like Panini.

In another tweet, the Pakistani ambassador made a false claim that the world's first linguist Panini and the world's most talked about political philosopher Chanakya were both sons of ancient Pakistan. He has also shared two videos to prove his false claim.

The tweet went viral, prompting people to lash out at the ambassador for his false claims. The #ancientpakistan trend started shortly after the tweet went viral. One user even wrote that 2700 years ago, there was neither a Muslim nor a Pakistani, let alone an ancient Pakistan. Taxila is not an Urdu word, as well as Panini was a Brahmin. This whole part was within the Indian subcontinent. I can only laugh at him for how he drives his citizens insane.

However, another user replied that there was no ancient Pakistan at that time. Before August 14-15, 1947, there was no Pakistan, let alone 2700 years ago. Panini and Chanakya taught at Takshashila University.
