Modi-Shah filed in US court for Rs. 735 crore claim quashed


Applicants include two members of a separatist and pro-Khalistan organization in Kashmir, who did not want to be named.

A lawsuit was filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a US court for 100 million, or about Rs 735 crore. The claim was made by pro-Kashmir and pro-Khalistan organizations. However, the petitioners were not present when the case was heard in the court, which led to the dismissal of the suit.

The claim was made by two members of a separatist group in Jammu and Kashmir and the Khalistani organization. When the matter was not present on the second date the petitioners were present which was eventually dismissed. The lawsuit was filed after the Howie Modi event on September 19, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

The court had challenged the decision to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, seeking compensation of પાસેથી 100 million, or about Rs 7.35 billion, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Lieutenant General Kanwal Jitsingh Dhillon.

Dhillon is currently the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Judge Fancy H. Stacey, in a district court in South Texas, said in his October 6 order that the Kashmir Khalistan Referendum Front had applied but had made no effort to move the case forward. Despite being given a date to appear twice, he did nothing. At the same time, the case was dismissed.
