Karnataka government withdraws night curfew

Bangalore, Ta. 24
The Karnataka government had announced the decision of night curfew a day ago, but the decision was eventually withdrawn due to public outcry. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa had announced a night curfew from 10 pm to 6 am in January to curb the Koro transition. After that, there was a protest among the people. People also opposed the government's decision on social media. Yeddyurappa, who eventually withdrew the decision, said: "It has been decided not to impose night curfew after taking into account the views of the people and after a review in the cabinet." The state does not need it at present, but the decision was taken for security reasons.
