Jammu and Kashmir Health Scheme launched today, every citizen will get health insurance of Rs 5 lakh per annum

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the scheme at 11 am

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Jammu and Kashmir Health Scheme, which provides health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per annum to every family in Jammu and Kashmir at 11 am today. The Prime Minister will present the scheme to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Jammu Convention Center.

This is the first such scheme in the country. One crore and thirty lakh people across Jammu and Kashmir will benefit from this scheme. Never before has there been such a health insurance scheme anywhere in the country. The first project was being launched in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister will unveil the scheme through virtual media. He will then address the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from the lieutenant governor, Chief Secretary BV R Subramaniam, Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and local administration officials will be present at the Jammu Convention Center on the occasion.

Jammu and Kashmir currently has a population of 13 million. Three million people were earlier covered under the Prime Minister's Public Health Scheme. The plan aims to cover the remaining one crore people now under the health insurance scheme. Beneficiaries of both the schemes will get the same facility and treatment facility. The benefit of this scheme will also be given to the state government and government employees of Jammu and Kashmir.

So far 16 lakh people have registered their family names in the scheme. There are plans to launch a larger campaign in the coming days to give other citizens the benefit of the scheme. With the unveiling of the scheme by the Prime Minister, Golden Cards will be distributed to 16 lakh people who have already registered their names. Also this morning at the Jammu Convention Center, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will inaugurate the distribution of golden cards to some people.

The BJP plans to win the Lokon sentiment of Jammu and Kashmir through this scheme. There was also a plan to make people trust the BJP government and stop supporting pro-Pakistan militants.
