Jamia students go for support, farmers evict: Indian Farmers Union seeks police help

- We do not need the support of Jamia Millia Islamia

New Delhi, 14 December 2020, Monday

Students of Jamia Millia Islamia reached Ghazipur and UP Gate on the border of Delhi to support the ongoing farmers' movement in the capital New Delhi. The peasant leaders drove them back.

Prakash Tikait, national spokesperson of the Indian Farmers Union, had sought the help of the police to repatriate the students, said DSP Anshu Jain. There was also a young woman in the group of students.

Prakash Tikait alleged that the government was trying to break our unity by sending a different group in this way. He said that this peasant movement is going to be historic. From today (Monday), farmers in all district headquarters of the country will go on hunger strike from 8 am to 5 pm. The agitation will continue till the government withdraws the new agricultural laws.
