Increased corona transition at IIT Madras: Lab-library closed, campus lockdown

Corona’s transition to IIT Madras is on the rise. In the last two weeks, 71 cases of corona have been reported. Of these, 66 students have been infected with corona. Library - The lab has also been closed. A temporary lockdown has also been imposed on campus. According to health officials, 32 new cases of corona virus were reported on campus on Sunday. There will be a steady increase in cases in the near future. The Tamil Nadu government has ordered to test the corona of a student present on campus. IIT Madras said in a statement on Sunday that all departments have been closed on an immediate basis.

Health Secretary J. Radhakrishna says health officials are keeping an eye on the spread of corona on the Madras campus. "It seems to us that the common mass is the main cause of corona infection," he added. All the students gather there. We have advised to close the institute’s mess and deliver food directly to the hostel. The corona of the staff present on campus as well as the student is being tested. The Chennai Corporation has also collaborated.

There are currently 774 students on campus, according to official data. There are 9 hostels for students and 1 guest house, where the transition to Corona has spread. 408 student samples have been given for testing. 22 cases have been registered in Krishna Hostel and 20 in Jamuna Hostel.

The student accused the campus administration

Some students have accused the campus administration of negligence. The student alleged that there was only one mess going on on campus. The student is ordered to leave the hostel.
