Heavy snowfall in Vaishnodevi and Mussoorie, deadly cold across North India

There was heavy snowfall all over North India and especially in Vaishnodevi in ​​Jammu and Kashmir and Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. The incidence of landslides also increased in some places.

The meteorological department had forecast cold snap in northern India in the wake of the snowfall. The first snowfall was reported in Mussoorie, the queen of the hills, on Sunday night. The whole hilly area seemed to have been whitewashed. There was also some rain in Mussoorie. As a result the temperature mercury dropped further and the cold increased.

Areas like Lal Tibba, Mall Road, etc. in Mussoorie received heavy rains as if the second monsoon had started. The rain on one side and the snow on the other side i.e. the fog also thickened. Most of the tourists who came here enjoyed strolling in the snow. However the rain seemed to have killed the fun.

The Uttarakhand Meteorological Department said there was a possibility of heavy snowfall and rain today, Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday. Simultaneous landslides were also possible in some areas. People wandering in the hilly areas were warned by the district administration to be vigilant. Tourists were also warned that avalanches could increase due to snowfall.

On the other hand, the first snow fell on Sunday at Vaishnodevi shrine in Katra area of ​​Jammu. The devotees who came to Vaishnodevi were also overjoyed to see the atmosphere as if a white sheet had been spread over Chomer. Snow fell at Trikuta Parvat and Vaishnodevi Dham and there was a good increase in cold. Devotees here enjoyed making ice balls and throwing them face to face. The meteorological department also forecast more snow here.
