Heavy snowfall in Kashmir-Himachal, freezing cold at minus 10 degrees in Kilong

In some northern states, the temperature rose to minus 10 degrees Celsius due to snowfall, which has led to a resurgence of cold wave in many states. Heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir is affecting northern India, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab.

Gulmarg in Kashmir had a low of minus 7.6 degrees Celsius, while Kilong in Himachal Pradesh had a low of minus 10 degrees Celsius.

According to the meteorological department, some northern Indian states are experiencing snowfall, extreme cold and fog. Over the next two to three days the temperature mercury is still likely to drop two to three degrees. Although there has been no major change in the maximum temperature of mercury in central and western India, cold mercury may also fall in western and central India in the next four to five days.

Temperatures are dropping amid a farmers' agitation in Delhi and foggy weather is prevailing in most parts of the state, with visibility declining due to fog in the morning causing traffic problems. The fog has also increased due to the rain that fell on Saturday.

Visibility reached 200 meters due to fog in Delhi in the morning. While in some areas it was recorded up to 100 meters. The temperature in Delhi hovered around 11.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, followed by a chill. While on Monday the temperature is still likely to drop to 10 degrees.

In Himachal Pradesh, the temperature in Kilong reached minus 10.7 degrees Celsius, while in Manali the temperature reached minus 2 degrees Celsius, leaving tourists stranded. 11 mm of snow fell in Jenjehli here. The minimum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 11.6 degrees due to rains in Uttar Pradesh.

Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh also saw a drop in temperature, while Amritsar, Ludhiana and Pathankot saw foggy weather. Even in Madhya Pradesh, the effect was foggy. The temperature in Chandigarh reached 13 degrees.
