Corona vaccine made from pork or not according to religious law

With the launch of the corona vaccination program in Britain and the United States, other countries in the country are also preparing to start the corona vaccination program as soon as possible. At such a time, Muslim countries around the world and Muslim clerics are confused about the issue of corona vaccine.

Since pork is used to make the corona vaccine, Muslim clerics are confused as to whether the vaccine is appropriate under Islamic law. Many companies around the world are working on corona vaccines and many countries have made advance bookings of vaccine doses. On the other hand, questions are being raised about products made from pork, banned by some Muslim religious groups. As a result, there are likely to be obstacles to the vaccination campaign.

Gelatin made from pork is widely used to maintain its safety and effectiveness during vaccine storage and transport. Some companies have been working for years to develop a vaccine without pork. Spokesmen for Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca said their corona vaccine did not use pork products, but several companies did not specify whether pork products were used in their vaccines. An assistant professor at the University of Sydney, Dr. Harnoor Rashid says that after extensive discussion about the use of pork gelatin in the vaccine, it has been decided that it is acceptable under Islamic law, because if the vaccine is not used, there will be "huge losses".
