Amit Shah arrives in Assam, also to visit Manipur

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati on Friday night. He was welcomed by Assam BJP workers.

Amit Shah went on a two-day trip to Assam as well as Manipur. Some of his programs are to be held in Assam and Manipur. He had visited West Bengal more than once before. West Bengal Assembly elections are to be held in 2021.

During his visit to Assam, Amit Shah will hold meetings with BJP leaders and activists in Assam and discuss various issues prevailing in the states of Northeast India. It may be noted here that the plan to prepare a national register of citizens in Assam was thwarted and the names of 19 lakh citizens were missing from the voter list. The matter was taken up in the Supreme Court and an exercise was undertaken by a committee constituted by the Supreme Court to prepare the register anew.

Home Minister Himachal Vishwa Sarma, spokesperson for the Northeast Democratic Coalition, said Home Minister Bodoland would also hold a meeting with the newly elected members of the regional council. Amit Shah will also lay the foundation stone of the beautification program of the birthplace of Vaishnava saint Shrimant Shankardev in Batadrav area of ​​Central Assam. The country's largest medical college hospital is to be set up in Assam at a cost of Rs 800 crore. The foundation stone will also be laid by the Home Minister. Tomorrow morning, after performing pooja at the world-famous Kamakshi temple in Assam, Amit Shah will leave for Manipur where he will launch various projects. He will lay the foundation stone of a medical college, an IIT, a government guest house, Manipur police headquarters etc. in Imphal.

After completing his programs in Manipur on Sunday, the Home Minister will return to the capital New Delhi on Sunday. The purpose of this program is also to win the sentiment of the people of Assam. Assam Assembly elections are also to be held in 2021. Assam is one of the sensitive states of Northeast India. In some areas, the native Assamese have become a minority and the so-called infiltrators of Bangladesh have become the majority, leading to frequent clashes. Some regional terrorist organizations, such as the Assam Gana Sangram Parishad, continue to use violence. The BJP's name was to show through Amit Shah's visit that the central government is also keen to do public works for Assam.
