93-year-old Congress leader Motilal Vora dies

Veteran Congress leader Motilal Vora died at the hospital today after contracting other ailments after coronary heart disease. He was 93 years old, his family said.

He was rushed to an escort hospital a few days before he developed urinary incontinence. He also had an infection in his lungs. Eventually they were also placed on a ventilator. Still on Sunday alone he completed 93 years of life.

Vora, a former chief minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh and governor of Uttar Pradesh, has been a member of the Rajya Sabha four times and the Lok Sabha once. Many leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, paid homage to him.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to the late leader. "Motilal Vora was one of the senior leaders of the Congress," Modi said. He had a lot of political and governmental experience. He was active in politics for three decades.

Rahul Gandhi said, "He was respected as a gentleman in all parties. My sympathies to his family. The Lord give peace to their souls. He was a wonderful leader. ' Priyanka Gandhi also said that every Congress leader and supporter would make up for their loss. I am personally saddened by his death.
