Youths in Kashmir have no choice but to carry guns: Mehbooba

Srinagar, Ta. 9 November 2020, Monday

Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti has said in a statement that it has rekindled his inclination towards Pakistan.

Mehbooba Mufti has advised to hold talks with Pakistan in the same way as talks are being held with China. She has asked the question if talks are being held with China then why not with Pakistan. Article 370 has been announced for re-application in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti said, "If we can talk to China, why not talk to Pakistan as well. We are begging China to take back our own land."

However, this is not the first time that Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah have made controversial statements. Even before this, Farooq Abdullah had said that it would be better if Kashmir merged with China, because people in Jammu and Kashmir are no longer ready to call themselves Indians.

In a provocative statement, Mehbooba Mufti said, "Today, the youth in Kashmir do not have a job. In these circumstances, they have no choice but to take up arms. Recruitment in terror camps is on the rise. BJP wants to sell Jammu and Kashmir land." But the youth of Kashmir are not getting jobs.

Arriving in Jammu, Mehbooba said that the situation in Jammu was even worse than in Kashmir, despite its objections to the rights of the Valmiki community or refugees from Pakistan. Article 370 is not a matter for Hindus or Muslims but for the state's distinctive identity. He promised to resettle Kashmiri Pandits but nothing has been done.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Amit Malviya said that if Mehbooba was saying that the youth were not getting jobs, he was presenting a report card on the performance of his own government. He was making such statements to provoke the youth.
