A new proposal came as talks between India and China in the Ladakh region over the past few months are underway through talks to defuse tensions. This proposal is to declare the so-called Line of Actual Control of India as a no man's land.

If the proposal was accepted, China was likely to withdraw from the Finger Eight area. At present, China is within eight kilometers of the Indian border between Finger Eight and Finger Four. Here his army has built bunkers. India considers this a violation of the border. Currently, the army of both the parties were constantly monitoring and parading in the area. The 1400 feet high hills on the shores of Lake Pangong are known as the Finger Area.

According to a military source, one of the various proposals for phased de-escalation was to declare the Finger area as No Man's Land for the time being. However, China's response to the proposal was not immediately known. If the proposal is accepted, both the parties will back down from their current position.
