Pakistan protests against MP who opened crop polls on congratulatory issue, considers treason case

Islamabad, November 1, 2020, Sunday

A Pakistani lawmaker who opened a poll in the Indian Air Force pilot congratulatory case is now being targeted by Imran Khan for treason.

Recently, Ayaz Siddiqui, an MP from Pakistan, while opening a poll of the Pakistani government and army, said that the pilot Abhinandan, who was captured by Pakistan, had to leave Pakistan immediately because India had given an ultimatum to retaliate if Abhinandan was not released. "Please let Abhinandan go back or India will attack Pak," he said.

However, after making the statement, Home Minister Ejaz Shah of the Imran government said that demands were being made to file a treason case against Sadiq. The petitions were being considered. Meanwhile, protests are taking place in Pakistan against Ayaz Sadiq.

A minister in the Imran government even said in a public meeting that Sadiq should keep going to India.
