Delhi Air Pollution: Fireworks make Delhi worse, firecrackers explode, air polluted

Ignoring the NGT's order and the Delhi government's insistence, Delhiites set off a lot of fireworks on Diwali. As a result, the already bad air in Delhi got worse and worse. AQI was seen increasing everywhere. According to the Pollution Control Committee, 481 AQIs were recorded in Anand Vihar. Similarly, 444 AQIs were recorded at IGI Airport, 457 at ITO and 414 at Lodhi Road.

Air quality has deteriorated in the area from Govindpuri, Kalkaji, Greater Kailash to India Gate. Smoke billowed into the colonies due to firecracker pollution. Firecrackers were illegally sold in the colonies along the road and were set on fire. Polluting firecrackers were widely used instead of green firecrackers. After which pollution in Delhi-NCR reached serious levels on Saturday.

The National Green Tribunal has banned the sale and use of all types of fireworks in Delhi-NCR till November 30. There was a lot of fireworks on Diwali though. Municipal vehicles are spraying water in different parts of the capital to clean Delhi's air and reduce pollution. These vehicles are spraying water in areas with high levels of pollution as well as in crowded markets.

In this order water was sprinkled from North Delhi Municipal Corporation in Sadar Bazar area. Regarding this, the mayor said that it is the responsibility of the Delhi government to reduce pollution. But she is sleeping while we are working.
