Congress has no organization on the ground or is very weak: P. Chidambaram also raises questions after Sibal

New Delhi, November 18, 2020, Wednesday

After senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal, now P. Chidambaram has also made a statement against the party.

"The results of the Bihar elections and the by-elections in other states show that the Congress has little or no organization on the ground," Chidambaram said.

Kapil Sibal had also publicly criticized the party. The controversy over which has not yet been resolved has now been raised by another senior leader in an interview to a newspaper. The results of the Gujarat, UP, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka elections are causing more concern. These results show that the party's organization is very weak. In Bihar, the RJD and the Congress had a chance to win. Not long ago, Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand have won.

"The Bihar elections have proved that even small parties can do well if the organization is strong. To defeat the BJP, we have to strengthen the organization on the ground. I think the Congress has more seats in Bihar than its strength," he said. The Congress has been allotted 25 seats where neither the BJP nor its allies have won for 20 years. The Congress did not have to contest these seats. The party had to contest only 45 candidates.

"I can't say who will be the chairman of the All India Congress Committee, but anyone can contest the election," he said.
