(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. Tuesday, November 24, 2020

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has asked all central government officials to provide details of their fixed and current assets by the end of this month. Any officer who does not comply with the order will be penalized, the order issued by the CVC said.

The CVC has expressed concern over the delay in submission of details of their assets by the officials and said that in any case, all the officers have to submit the details of their assets by November 30. The order issued by the CVC said that failure to provide details of assets in a timely manner was sufficient reason to take disciplinary action against them.

The CVC further said that as per the report submitted by the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the states, most of the central government officials have not yet submitted the property returns detailing their assets for the year 2019. The last date for submission of this return was January 31 in most of the institutions.

Even though 9 months have passed since the last date, the property returns of all the officers have not been received yet. It may be mentioned that the CVC is informed about the source of income of the officers from the property return. The CVC has clearly stated in its order that strict action will be taken against the officer who does not submit the property return by 30-11-20.
