Punjab police have so far arrested a total of eight people, including a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, in connection with the smuggling of 11 kg of heroin on Wednesday. Illegal weapons being smuggled by the gang were also seized earlier.

11 kg of heroin came from Pakistan. The evil of drugs has increased a lot among the youth of Punjab in the last few years. A spokesman for the Indian Army said five years ago that previously the largest number of Punjabi youths had joined the army. Now, due to drug use, Punjabi youth were failing the recruitment test. This was a worrying situation.

Jalandhar Rural Police in a joint operation with Rajasthan Police arrested Barinder Singh, a Border Security Force jawan on duty in Ganganagar area of ​​Rajasthan. Based on the information provided by him, the police also arrested two other drug carriers Balkar Singh Bally and Jagmohan Singh Jaggu.

Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta told the media that these people were bringing consignments of drugs from the Indo-Pakistan border and sending them to other parts of the country. Police seized four drug carriers on Wednesday. 11 kg of heroin and 11 lakh 25 thousand drug tablets were recovered from them. Police also seized an I20 car.
