Bihar alcohol ban to be reconsidered, corruption on the rise: BJP MP

New Delhi, 13 November 2020, Friday

The BJP MP has made a strangely poor demand to Nitish Kumar, who is taking over as Chief Minister again when the NDA government is going to be formed in Bihar.

BJP leader and MP Nishikant Dubey has appealed to Nitish Kumar to reconsider the anti-alcohol law in Bihar as it is encouraging corruption.

"I urge Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to change the ban on alcohol," said Dubey, an MP from Jharkhand. Revenue is being lost, Bihar's hotel industry is being affected and corruption in the police department is on the rise.

However, it is doubtful whether Nitish Kumar will consider it, as the ban on alcohol in Bihar is one of the most important decisions taken by Nitish Kumar, who has been applauded by women.

However, the Opposition has repeatedly criticized Nitish Kumar for saying that the liquor ban is on paper in Bihar. Such liquor was also seized during the elections. Crimes have also been registered against millions of people.

During the election, a number of RJD leaders said that the ban would be lifted if our government came to power and experts believe that women voters were offended by the announcement.
