New delhi date. 18 November 2020, Wednesday

There has been positive news in the direction of the corona vaccine. The American pharmaceutical company Pfizer claims that the final analysis of the third phase corona vaccine shows that the drug is 95% effective. At the same time, the company claims that the drug meets safety standards.

The company said the analysis was effective even in older adults and did not show any serious safety concerns. The company has now sought permission for emergency use of the vaccine.

Corona transition was seen in 170 volunteers involved in the trial, according to the company. Of these, 162 were given placebo or plain saline shots while the remaining 8 received the actual vaccine. The results were 95% effective, the company said.

The clinical trial of Phase III of the vaccine began on July 27. The company said 42,611 volunteers were involved. Of these, 41,135 volunteers were given a second dose of the vaccine. The company announced a week ago that it would develop a vaccine up to 90% effective. Pfizer and Modern's vaccine uses Messenger RNA.

Storage in India is a challenge

On the one hand, there is hope for a Pfizer company claim, but there is also a challenge with its storage. The government of India said on Tuesday that storage of Pfizer corona vaccines at temperatures below zero to 70 degrees Celsius is a major challenge. But if India gets the vaccine, the government is reviewing all possibilities. He said it could take a few months for the vaccine to reach India.
