The Supreme Court has ordered the airlines to immediately refund the tickets canceled during the lockdown. The court said that the air ticket for the travel during the lockdown should be returned immediately.

Even if the ticket has been canceled for the post-lockdown journey, their rupee should be returned within three weeks. The Supreme Court has allowed the DGCA to offer a refund of tickets to passengers on flights canceled during a lockdown by airlines through a credit cell. The central government proposes that if the ticket is sold by an agent, the refund shell for the air ticket should also be used through the agent.

All passengers booked air tickets between March 25 and May 24, 2020 during the lockdown and the airlines received payment from them for domestic or international flights but when the flight was stopped, these passengers canceled their tickets or their tickets were canceled and the airlines Began to demand his money back from. Airlines began to be reluctant to give passengers money and instead of money they started giving them credit shells in return for which they could book tickets at any time.

The apex court said that the airlines would have to refund the full amount of the canceled ticket and no cancellation charge would be levied for it. This refund must be made within three weeks of the ticket being canceled. If someone has booked a ticket for travel during the lockdown period through an agent, his rupee will have to be refunded immediately.
