PM Modi considered Keshubhai a political guru, taking blessings after winning every election

New Delhi, 29 October 2020, Thursday

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel has died today at the age of 92. Keshubhai had a long association with PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi considered him as his political guru.

It is said that when Narendra Modi became the CM of Gujarat, he used to go to Keshubapa's blessings after winning the elections. Meanwhile, PM Modi used to feed him sweets and also make his mouth salty. That is why PM Modi came. Keshubhai was already present on the stage at that time. PM Modi touched his feet as soon as he saw Keshubhai. All eyes were on the visit of these two.

In 2001, the BJP replaced Keshubhai Patel with Narendra Modi as the CM of Gujarat, as Keshubhai's government was washed away after the Kutch earthquake at that time. However, Modi always considered Keshubhai as his guru.

Keshubhai was part of the BJP from 1980 to 2012. The BJP formed the government in Gujarat under his leadership in 1995. In 2012, he split from the BJP and formed the Gujarat Parivartan Party. He then criticized Narendra Modi in public. Keshubhai and Narendra Modi appeared at the eclipse ceremony. Even when Keshubhai's son Praveen died in 2017, Modi visited his residence.
