Physical harassment by the police station in-charge: Women police

(PTI) Bulandshahr (UP), Ta. 30 September 2020, Wednesday

A female police constable here has accused her police station in-charge of physically and mentally harassing her.

The woman police constable, who was on duty at the city's Gulaothi police station, had lodged a complaint against her police station in-charge Sachin Malik in a petition filed with the senior superintendent of police, alleging that Malik was improperly harassing her and threatening to kill her if I complained.

The woman has been on duty at the police station since July 2013, while Sachin Malik has been made in-charge of the station since February 2020.

Within days of Malik taking charge of the police station, the woman began harassing the police physically and mentally. Malik began to keep an eye on the personal life of the female constable. This increased the woman's harassment.

The woman constable has sought departmental action against Malik in an application to the superintendent of police. The superintendent said a committee would investigate the incident and submit a report within a week. Then the necessary steps will be taken.
