Bhopal dated 21st October 2020 Wednesday

Usha Thakur, a minister from Madhya Pradesh, made a controversial statement that madrassas produce terrorists. Madrassas had turned Jammu and Kashmir into a terrorist factory. Terrorists were born in madrassas.

Usha said madrassas should be closed. Madrassas do not follow nationalism. They should be transformed into the existing education system. He urged the government to close all government-funded madrassas. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir can be seen. Madrasa education is responsible for the fact that this state, once known as paradise, is now becoming a factory for terrorists.

He further said that the Wakf Board was becoming a viable body so the government assistance given to it should be stopped now. Religious education was spreading bigotry. Terrorists were born. Hatred and victimization arise. Government support to madrassas and wakf boards should be stopped.

Criticizing former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Usha said that during his 15-month rule, temples were taxed at 10 per cent and mullahs were given Rs 5,000 from the exchequer. On November 3, the public will respond to this leader and his party.
