The CBI will challenge the bail in the Supreme Court.

Many leaders and political parties are worried that if Lalu stays out at a time when assembly elections are underway in Bihar. Lalu had been granted bail in three of the four cases. This is a case of illegal withdrawal of Rs 139 crore from Doranda treasury. If Lalu gets bail in the case of withdrawing Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury, he will be released from jail.

However, the case is likely to be heard after November 6 as the Jharkhand High Court may reopen following the festive season.

Lalu was sentenced to seven years in prison under two laws for illegally withdrawing large sums of money from the Dumka treasury. Lalu Deoghar is currently out on bail in a case of withdrawing Rs 79 lakh from the treasury. He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison in the case. Lalu was also granted bail on the ninth of this month in a case of withdrawal of Rs 33.13 crore from the Chaibasa treasury.

The CBI believes that Lalu was given several sentences under various laws, some of which he did not serve. Lalu Yadav has been serving his sentence in Ranchi Jail since December 2017. His lawyer Prabhat Kumar's argument is that he has to suffer with all the punishments. Each sentence is no different.
