Two naval officers were killed when a glider crashed near the Thoppumpadi bridge in Kerala's Kochi district on Sunday morning.
A statement from the Navy said INS Garuda departed for regular training and the glider crashed around 7 a.m.
The two officers who flew the glider have been identified as Lieutenant Rajiv Jha, 39, of Uttarakhand and Sunil Kumar, a patrol officer (electrical air) of Bihar. He was pronounced dead at INHS Sanjivani by a doctor. The Southern Naval Command has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
