Jyotiraditya Scindia sits on silent dharna, politics heats up on Kamal Nath's statement

-Silence picket started in Indore

Bhopal dated 19th October 2020 Monday

Jyotiraditya Scindia, now quitting the Congress and joining the BJP, sat in a silent dharna in Indore against former state chief minister Kamal Nath, who had been vociferously criticizing Madhya Pradesh government's Dalit women minister Imrati Devi. Scindia was accompanied by her supporters. They had such boards that if mother insults sisters, how can they insult them?

Kamal Nath described Imrati Devi as an item at a campaign rally for one of his party's candidates. Scindia's silent picket lasted for two hours. Along with Scindia, many of his supporters also joined the demonstrations.

The BJP had also lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against Kamal Nath's statement. The BJP also demanded a ban on Kamal Nath's election campaign. Defending Congress leaders say Kamal Nath did not name Imrati Devi. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan retaliated by saying that the Congress had earlier called him a hungry naga. Now the daughter of a Dalit farmer was publicly insulted. Voters should take note of this and teach Congress a lesson.
