In Punjab, PM Modi erupts over burning of Modi's statue

New delhi date. Monday 26 October 2020

Controversy has erupted in Punjab over the wearing of a mask by PM Narendra Modi on the idol of Ravana on the occasion of Dussehra. BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday termed it a Rahul Gandhi-directed drama contract. He said the incident was embarrassing but not unexpected. Apart from this, he accused the Nehru-Gandhi family of never honoring the Prime Minister's Office.

The combination of despair and shamelessness is dangerous, JP Nadda said. Congress has both. The hollow statement of decency and democracy is made by the mother. There the son complements the live demonstrations of the politics of hatred, anger, lies and aggression.

He further said that if there is one party whose conduct is detestable, it is the Congress. Atrocities on SC-ST communities are at an all-time high in Rajasthan. Apart from Rajasthan, women are not safe in Punjab either. Punjab minister is scamming scholarships.

J P Nadda accused the Congress of suppressing the press, saying Congress has suppressed dissenting voices for decades. We have seen a glimpse of this in emergencies. Rajiv Gandhi's government later tried to undermine press freedom. The pressure is mounting on the Mux Press Congress.

Rahul Gandhi called the incident tragic

Rahul Gandhi termed the incident of burning the statue of Prime Minister Modi as tragic. He said that a statue of Prime Minister Modi has been burnt all over Punjab. In Punjab, people's anger towards the Prime Minister has reached this level. The Prime Minister should talk to these people.
